Unfortunately for Chris Rock, he is now being sued for the film. A lady by the name of Regina Kimbell claims she showed Chris her documentary titled “My Nappy Hair” in 2007 on the set of his show “Everybody Hates Chris”. Even though Chris has stated in interviews that he was inspired to do the film after he attended a Bronner Brothers Hair Show followed by a conversation he had with his daughter regarding “bad hair” ten years later, Kim says he completely stole her idea. Kim’s film featured celebrities and others who discussed hair techniques and styles of African American women and won the best documentary prize at the 2007 Black Hollywood Film Festival.
